I wanted to share some experimental play exercises i have been doing as part of a watercolour beginners class over on Skillshare by Ana Victoria Calderon called ‘Modern Watercolour Techniques: beginners level‘

Below are some close-ups of each circle showing what I used.
Our first task was to have an experimental play with watercolours, water and whatever other paints we had around the house. I used acrylic inks, india ink, and spray metallic paints. It really is so much fun. It’s not often that i get to just ‘play’ with pretty paints! So I relished the chance. Plus some of the effects you can get from just these paints are very interesting and definitely worth practising again.
I hope you have a go too at this exercise, it really is sooo much fun! If anyone does try it out, please leave a comment below and share what you learned with us. Enjoy 🙂
