This week I have been experimenting with white gel pen on black card by using ‘Zentangle’ as my inspiration. I’m very much a beginner when it comes to this, so I have been looking and researching online for ‘how-to’ techniques in a bid to try some out in my work. Below you can see some pieces I have done recently…..and yes, still lots to finish off as usual, but I’m enjoying this form of art work and love the pattern side of it. It reminds me of doing Spirograph as a kid, which I still love now. Well you can never be too old can you?!
I have included a few links below should you wish to find out more about Zentangle. If you love shapes, pattern and lines, you will love Zentangle! Not only is it relaxing, but it is also great meditation as you get really absorbed into the process.
Here is a YouTube video (about 8 mins ), for those who would prefer to ‘see’ how you complete Zentangles;
And I couldn’t resist adding this video in the post just because its flower/botanical related (as I LOVE flowers/leaves etc);
I hope this will inspire you to get your pens and pencils out and get tangling or just to give you some inspiration on what you could draw next. Either way I hope you have enjoyed the post. Happy doodling everyone!
